William "Billy" Griffin

December 28, 1970 — August 4, 2025

It is with heavy hearts and joyful memories that we celebrate the life of William Griffin, known to friends and family as "Billy." Billy was born on December 28, 1970, in Syracuse, NY. He left this world too soon on August 4, 2025, leaving behind a legacy filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Billy spent his days as a dedicated truck driver for over 25 years, but his heart was always at home. He was a true family man, and nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his loved ones. Billy loved hunting and fishing, often participating in tournaments where laughter echoed as he shared unforgettable stories-like the time they flipped the boat while singing the Titanic theme song, or the excitement of his biggest catch, a colossal 43-pound blue catfish; all of the stories became legendary tales in the family!

Family was everything to Billy. He adored his wife, Tammy Griffin, whom he married on March 4, 1992, in Lovington, NM., and took immense joy in every moment spent with his children Clifton, William, and Shelly. He had a special bond with his grandchildren, affectionately nicknaming them all: Jackson as "Gator Bait," Ryan as "Shark Bait," Luke as "Lukeman," and CJ as "Minion." He loved playing games, like Fortnite with his boys, grandkids, and daughter-in-law as well as Dreamlight Valley with his wife, daughter, and son-in-law. While playing Dreamlight Valley he would plant pumpkins for his kids and wife to go harvest.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Tammy Griffin of Kermit, TX., his sons William Griffin and wife Sierra of Monahans, TX., and Clifton Griffin and fiancé Reagan O'Brien of Odessa, TX., his daughter Shelly Burkhalter and husband Colby of Kermit, TX., his mother Karon Thurmon of Breckenridge, TX., brothers Gregory Scott Griffin and wife Gena of Gun Barrel, TX., Ronnie Griffin of Hobbs, NM., and Clifton Griffin of Tennessee, sisters Alphie Lowrie of Greenwood, AR., and Rene Stanley of Breckenridge, TX., and grandchildren Jackson, CJ, Luke, and Ryan all who will carry forward his spirit of humor and love.

He is preceded in death by his father Doner C. Griffin, brother Donneray Griffin, and sister Connie Peoples.

As we come together to remember Billy, let us cherish the moments filled with laughter, love, and adventure, just as he would have wanted. He is gone from our sight but will forever remain in our hearts. Billy Griffin will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who lived life to the fullest.
