It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Vaudie Jo Kohr, lovingly known to many as Angel, who entered eternal rest on July 9, 2026, in Eustace, TX, at the age of 54. Born on August 31, 1971, in Wichita, KS, Angel's life was defined by resilience, kindness, and a deep devotion to her family and friends.
Angel's path through life was one of both joy and challenge, but no matter the circumstances, she faced each day with hope and unwavering strength. Renowned for being "tough as nails," she never let life's struggles dim her spirit. Those close to her remember her as loving, kind, and, above all, stubborn in the best way-a wonderful combination that made her both fiercely supportive and love deeply.
A long-time resident of Kermit, Angel worked for over ten years at Mary's Flowers, where her warm nature and vibrant personality touched many within the community. Her passion for life extended far beyond her work; Angel found great joy in the outdoors, frequently going camping and enjoying time out on the boat. She cherished opportunities to go out dancing or shopping, relishing those simple pleasures that made every moment special.
Yet the heart of Angel's world was always her family. She treasured every chance she had to be with them, especially her children and grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. Gathering together-be it for celebrations or quiet evenings-brought her the greatest happiness. Her presence was a constant source of comfort, wisdom, and laughter.
Angel was blessed with many friends and was well-known for her genuine care, infectious joy, and the loyalty she showed to those she held dear. Whether among family or friends, she will be remembered for her loving embrace, hopeful heart, and enduring spirit.
Angel is survived by her beloved children: Carol Halterman and her husband Garron of Eustace, TX, Curtis Collum and his wife Amber of Kermit, TX, Chuck Collum and his wife Alicia of Odessa, TX, and Casey Collum of Odessa, TX, her brother, Brian Kohr and his wife Carla of Kermit, TX, along with her cherished grandchildren, Dakota Weaver, Zachary Alexander, Dawson Alexander, Bailey Alexander, Kagan Collum, Lia Collum, Avery Collum, and Cayden Collum.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Julia Spivey, her sister, Beverly Kohr, and her paternal grandparents.
Visitation will be held from 9:00AM-9:00PM, Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Kermit Funeral Home. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 10:00AM, Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the Kermit Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Eddy Whitefield officiating. Burial will follow at the Kermit Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care of Kermit Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Condulences to the family can be made at www.kermitfuneralhome.com
