Obituary for Stephen Michael Snell
With heavy hearts, we announce the untimely passing of Stephen Michael Snell, age 41, of Sealy, Texas, who departed this world on November 6, 2025. Born on February 3, 1984, Stephen was a vibrant soul who embraced life with unparalleled enthusiasm and warmth.
Stephen lived by a simple yet profound principle: whatever he did, he poured his heart into it. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, embodying the values of service, integrity, and commitment. This dedication was evident in every task he undertook and every relationship he cherished. He was known for his generous spirit-always willing to lend a helping hand or offer his warmth to anyone in need. Friends often remarked that he would give the shirt off his back to a stranger, and this selflessness earned him the deep respect and admiration of all who knew him.
In his free time, Stephen embraced hobbies that reflected his love for life and connection with others. Whether he was hosting lively Uno games with his best friend, Diana Briones, hitting the dance floor, or belting out tunes at karaoke, his joyous laughter and infectious spirit filled any room. His affection for the outdoors was evident as he spent leisurely afternoons with Amanda Thompson and his two dogs Cowboy, and River riding on his red tractor, zooming around on electric scooters, and igniting the grill for perfectly cooked ribs.
Stephen's passion extended beyond personal enjoyment; he cherished his relationships deeply, especially with his beloved nephew, Colton. Stephen looked forward to taking Colton to Astros games and sharing his love of golf, and bonding over camping and fishing trips in Matagorda. A die-hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the Houston Astros, and Texas A&M, Stephen's loyalty to his teams was unwavering. His West Texas friends fondly nicknamed him "George Strait," a tribute to both his sharp style and his wonderful singing voice-qualities that made him stand out in any crowd.
Stephen is survived by his mother, Gale Snell of Sealy, TX., grandmother, Jean Tarver of Brenham, TX., sister, Courtney Powers and husband Jason of Bellville, TX., nephew, Colton Powers of Bellville, TX., and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends all who will carry his memory in their heart forever.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Snell, grandfather, Donald Tarver, and grandparents, Phil and June Snell.
