Ramona Hicks

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ramona Elizabeth Hicks, born on February 6, 1968, in Kermit, Texas. Ramona left this world on July 11, 2025. She was a cherished sister, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew her.

Ramona embodied a vibrant spirit that resonated through the music and dance she loved. Her passion for Rock N Roll and Tejano music filled many gatherings with joy, and her laughter and bright smile were a constant source of happiness, making her the life of the party wherever she went. Known for her fearless and candid nature, Ramona was never shy about sharing her thoughts.

Ramona found peace and fulfillment working outdoors, she poured her heart into her yard. Above all else, her love for her three dogs-Skittles, Buford, and Cherokee-was unparalleled; they brought her a sense of joy and companionship that enriched her life.

Ramona is survived by her sister, Lenora Hicks of Kermit, TX., her brother, Travis Hicks of Hobbs, NM., granddaughter, Madison Kiser of Kermit, TX., and her lifelong friend, Shelly Chambless of Kermit, TX. All who will cherish her memory and the countless moments they shared together.

Ramona was preceded in death by her fiancé, Kerry McKellips, parents, Jimmy and Ava Hicks, and brothers, Jerry, Danny, Buddy, and Jr.
