James Pirtle

April 14, 1960 — June 26, 2025

James Isaac Pirtle, a cherished friend, devoted father, and loved grandfather, passed away on June 26, 2025, in Jal, New Mexico at the age of 65. Born on April 14, 1960, to Wilburn and Mary Pirtle, in Uvalde, Texas, James lived a life dedicated to hard work, service, and family.

James's career as a sandblaster in the oil field showcased his strong work ethic and resilience. Throughout his career, he earned a reputation as a reliable and diligent worker. He served honorably in the New Mexico National Guard, an experience that shaped his character and instilled a deep sense of pride in serving his country.

James was a proud member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Jal, NM, where he found solace and strength in his faith. He loved the Lord deeply, which resonated in the kindness he showed to others and the joy he spread among his family and friends.

Those who knew James were touched by his personality, his ability to bring joy and laughter into any room. A natural jokester, he had the remarkable talent of brightening the day of others with his humor. Friends and family alike will fondly remember his infectious laughter and warm spirit.

James found great joy in working with his hands, particularly through woodworking, which allowed him to express his creativity. He found peace in the great outdoors, where he enjoyed going hunting, fishing, and camping in the mountains. These pastimes brought him peace and fulfillment, granting him many cherished moments shared with loved ones in the great outdoors.

James is survived by his daughters LaDonna Houston and her husband Craig, Samantha O'Rear and her husband Rex Walter, and Amanda Barth and her husband Jeremih. He is also survived by his brother, Johnny Pirtle, and sisters, Pauline Keys and Delina. His legacy will continue to thrive through his beloved grandchildren, Destini Alexander and her husband Deshawn Stone, Codi Alexander, Nathan O'Rear, Ethan O'Rear, and Melody Houston.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Laurie Jean Pirtle, and his parents, Wilburn and Mary Pirtle. As we remember James Isaac Pirtle, we celebrate a life marked by hard work, unwavering faith, and a devotion to family. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
