Henry Keith
Beckham

Jal Community Center
3:00 - 4:00 pm (Central time)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Henry Keith Beckham, who left this world peacefully on May 31, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on July 4, 1953, in Kermit, Texas, Henry grew up surrounded by family and his journey through life was as vibrant and unyielding as the rugged lands he loved.
From his earliest days, Keith carried the legacy of his family with pride and determination. He graduated from Jal High School in 1971, where he distinguished himself as an all-state football player, continuing a proud family tradition. He remained a devoted fan of Jal High School sports and an avid supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, passions that never waned as the years passed. His education took him to TSTI in Waco, where he studied Ranch Management, honing the skills that would serve him well in his life's endeavors.
Keith's personality was a force of nature. He was remarkably social, never met a stranger, and could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere. Yet, when it was time to move on, he left no room for delays-you better be ready to follow because Keith didn't wait. Sharp as a whistle, he spoke his mind plainly, embodying a straightforward honesty cherished by those who knew him. One could always find him with his trademark Copenhagen and Camel cigarettes, a small but defining part of his rugged charm. His rodeo days were storied-he roped, bull rode, and even tried bareback riding, embracing the cowboy life with the fearless heart of a true rodeo man.
Above all, Keith loved his family with a boundless devotion that defined much of his life. His greatest pride and joy were his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His marriage to Jennifer Beckham, the love of his life, which began on September 22, 1975, in Jal, New Mexico, was a lifelong bond that shaped his world.
Keith is survived by his loving wife Jennifer Beckham of Jal, NM; daughters Dusty Valdez of Jal, NM, and Wendy Dewar with her husband Randy of West Fork, AR. He also leaves behind his cherished sisters Mary Russell and husband Ed of Omaha, TX, and Elizabeth Sanders and husband Dave of Portales, NM; sister-in-law Billie Jean Beckham of Jal, NM; grandchildren Anthony Valdez and wife Ashlyn, Savannah Valdez, Ally Dewar, and Rogan Dewar; great-grandchildren Skylar Valdez, Adrian Valdez, and Rosalee Valdez; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who all carry forth his legacy with love.
He was preceded in death by his parents Monterray "Sam" and Lela "Pat" Beckham, sister Sammie Wray Beckham and her husband Bobby, brother Monteray "Monty" Beckham and his grandparents Henry and Lela Neville.
Henry Keith Beckham's story is one of heart, grit, and love. His memory will remain a guiding light for his family and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00PM, Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the Jal Community Center, with Ed Russell and Dave Sanders Officiating. Arrangements are under the personal care of Kermit Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Condolences to the family can be made at www.kermitfuneralhome.com
