Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Guadalupe Ramirez, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world on March 7, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on February 21, 1945, in Ojinaga, Mexico, Guadalupe made her home in Wink, Texas, where she touched the lives of everyone around her with her warm spirit and unwavering faith.

Guadalupe's faith was a cornerstone of her life; she was a devoted member of the Asamblea Apostolica De La Fe En Cristo Jesus and found great joy in attending church services. Her love for Jesus was profound, and it was evident that her family was her pride and joy.

Guadalupe married Ricardo Ramirez on November 3, 1965, in El Mulato, Mexico, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. She was an amazing mother and was fiercely devoted to her family. Her life revolved around the joy of her family. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren, collecting news clippings whenever they were mentioned in the paper.

She had a special way of nurturing her loved ones; her kitchen was often filled with the comforting aromas of sopita, fidello, rice, and delicious chocolate rice cereal, along with the iconic Dora cereal for the little ones. Guadalupe especially cherished the time spent cooking with her grandchildren, making tortillas and empanadas; creating not just meals but treasured memories of laughter.

She was a woman of many passions, an avid gardener with a nurturing touch that brought vibrant blooms into her home. Her love for nature was evident as she took joy in watching the birds and caring for her parakeets, dogs, and massive cat "Gorda".

Those who knew her remember her as a hardworking and independent spirit, always ready to open her home and serve a meal, often insisting that visitors eat whether they were hungry or not. She loved dressing up & attending dances & parties. Guadalupe had a unique bond with the daughters-in-laws, who she adored and often spoiled alongside her "favorite" daughters, Ruby & Rosa.

Her vibrant personality extended to her social life as well; she loved going shopping at Bealls, solving crossword puzzles, coloring, and sharing lunch dates with her husband Ricardo. Guadalupe cherished her friendships, often spending time with close friends such as Elena Garcia, Maria Lara, Peggy Rodriguez; the late Yolanda Valenzuela, Maria Garcia, and Freda Dodd. She eagerly attended Wink Wildcats Sports Events, always supporting her family with unwavering enthusiasm.

Guadalupe leaves behind her loving husband Ricardo Ramirez of Wink, TX., her sons, George Ramirez and wife Nancy, Cesar Ramirez and wife Sonya, and Armando Ramirez and wife Jennifer all of Wink, TX., her daughter, Ruby Ramirez of Odessa, TX., brother, Hector Ramirez and wife Patina of Kermit, TX., son-in-law, Juan Carlos Nieto of Irving, TX., 20 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Salbador and Valbaneda Saenz, son, Ricardo Ramirez Jr., daughter, Rosa Isela Nieto, along with her brothers and sisters.

Guadalupe will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her loving heart, compassionate spirit, and the joy she brought to all who knew her.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 9, 2026, from 1:00PM-8:00PM, at Kermit Funeral Home, and will continue Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 10:00AM - 8:00PM. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the Asamblea Apostolica Church with Pastor Roberto Moreno Officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Kermit Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include her daughter Ruby Ramirez, and her grandsons Justin Rodriguez, Tyler Avila, Jr. Nieto, Isaac Nieto, Anthony Ramirez, Koby Ramirez, Alex Ramirez, Austin Ramirez, Dominique Williams, Jordan Willams, Cesar Rey Ramirez, and Jalen Ramirez.
