Christopher Glenn Eades, affectionately known as SOX, whose heart and spirit brought unbridled joy to those around him, passed away suddenly on June 3, 2025, in Odessa, Texas. Born on July 30, 1980, in San Angelo, Texas, Christopher was a vibrant soul whose laughter resonated through every room he entered and whose immense love for life painted the world in bright colors.
A proud graduate of Lakeview High School in 1998, Christopher embarked on a thrilling journey that would define much of his life. Right after high school, he dove headfirst into his passion for music and entertainment, launching his DJ career at Grahams Central Station in San Angelo, making numerous friends and great memories. He was affectionately given the nickname SOX due to always wearing long tube socks while playing softball. This nickname stuck and became synonymous with unforgettable parties and joyful celebrations. With determination and charisma, he quickly ascended to the position of general manager in Odessa and continued his love for life. His talent and enthusiasm led him to work everywhere, from Rockin Rodeo to Ten Four and Jimbo's, leaving a lasting mark on the nightlife of Midland and Odessa.
Sox was not merely a DJ; he was a maestro of happiness, orchestrating moments filled with laughter and love at countless weddings, parties, and events. He had an extraordinary ability to connect with people, ensuring every gathering was a tapestry of warmth and camaraderie. Those fortunate enough to call him a friend basked in the unconditional love he freely gave, knowing that with Sox by their side, they were cherished deeply.
Beyond the turntables, Chris embraced life's adventures with open arms. He was a huge fan of Captain America, often reflecting the character's spirit through his own life; brave, loyal, and always ready to uplift others. His interests were wildly varied and dynamic travelling the world, cheering for the Texas Rangers at their baseball games, and dancing the night away at concerts were just snippets of what made him truly alive. He sought joy in every corner of life.
Chris is survived by his beloved sister, Debra Ashley of San Angelo, TX, and his half-brother Michael Wolf of Kerrville, TX. Also his cherished nieces, Rachael Ashley of Plano, TX and Madison Ashley, of Oklahoma City, OK. He found love and support in his aunt, Brenda Johnson of San Angelo, TX, and his uncle Bobby Davis and his wife Nina from Arizona, along with numerous cousins and countless friends who will forever feel the void left by his absence.
He now joins his dear parents, Thomas and Barbara Eades, and friend, Shane Tatum, in eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy that speaks volumes of his generous spirit, magnetic personality, and unwavering devotion to friendship. While the music may have faded for now, Christopher "SOX" Glenn Eades will forever echo in our hearts, a beautiful reminder of the light he brought to our lives.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 3:00PM, Sunday, June 22, 2025 at the American Legion Hall In Odessa, TX.
