Charley "Chucky" Gene
Willhelm
Jul 29, 1965 — Jun 23, 2026
Brotherhood 74 Clubhouse
10:00 - 11:00 am (Central time)
Charley Gene Willhelm Jr. "Chucky" passed away on June 23, 2026, in Kermit, Texas, at the age of 60. Born on July 29, 1965, in Cut Bank, Montana, Charley's life was defined by his passion, generosity and his unwavering love for family and friends.
Chucky's life was lived at full throttle, guided by a passion for all things high-octane. Whether it was the thunder of motorcycles, the roar of souped-up rat rods, or the slick purr of his favorite cars, he was happiest with his hands on a steering wheel and the wind in his face. Chucky had a knack for turning a drive into an adventure, and a race into a celebration.
Chucky's love extended far beyond engines and speed. He cherished gathering with friends and family for cookoffs and enjoyed the memories these occasions brought. Above all, his family was his greatest source of joy. On September 20, 2003, Chucky married Shelia, the love of his life, and their bond remained a source of strength and happiness throughout the years.
Chucky's heart was never fuller than in the service of others. For over 20 years, he stood proudly as a member of Brotherhood 74, pouring his considerable energies into every benefit and cause. Always the loudest in the room, he became the go to announcer for the group, there was no cause too small, and no child in need whom Chucky would not stand up for. He was a rare kind of generous: the kind to give you the shirt off his back and the last five dollars in his pocket, never giving a second thought. Chucky never missed a chance to lift the spirits of those around him. The "fun uncle" to many, he was known for his enormous personality, quick wit, and unwavering loyalty. His friendships ran deep.
Chucky is survived by his beloved wife, Shelia Willhelm of Kermit, TX., mother, JoAnn Willhelm of Midland, TX., children, Trey Willhelm of Kermit, TX., Kristin Campbell of Minnetonka, MN., Page Clark and husband Furkan Tekbicak of Marlton, NJ., and Phillip Campbell II and wife Britanny of San Angelo, TX., brother, David Willhelm, and wife Susan of Wink, TX., and sister, Donna Paehl and husband Steve of Kermit, TX. Charley's legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Braxton Howard, Brynlee Howard, Madeline Dye, Evan Tekibicak, and Lily Campbell.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charley Gene Willhelm Sr., and his sister, Tessie Beckwith.
Though his voice has quieted, Chucky's legacy roars on-through stories told around firepits and engines roaring down open roads, through every act of kindness inspired by his example. The memory of his generosity, humor, and strength lingers in the hearts of all who walked beside him.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 10:00AM, Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Brotherhood 74 Clubhouse with Shane Norton Officiating. Arrangements are under the personal care of Kermit Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Condolences to the family can be made at www.kermitfuneralhome.com
