Arturo Alvarado Orozco, a beloved father, passionate baker, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 15, 2025, at the age of 75, in Kermit, Texas. He was born on February 15, 1950, in Chihuahua, Mexico, and spent his life dedicated to his craft and family.
Arturo began his journey as a baker at the tender age of twelve, discovering a profound joy in creating delectable treats that would nourish not only the body but also the soul. While his family lovingly described him as a "jack of all trades but a master of none except baking," it was in the kitchen that he truly excelled. His baking was a reflection of his big heart, and he took immense pride in bringing happiness to those he loved.
A devoted father to his five daughters Arturo's greatest joy stemmed from spending time with his family. Saturdays at home were filled with the vibrant sounds of music, as he would play it loud enough to awaken his daughters, setting a joyful tone for the day ahead. Whether BBQing at the park or gathering around to cheer on their favorite boxing matches, he nurtured a deep bond with his loved ones.
Arturo's passion extended beyond baking to include a remarkable green thumb, he could grow anything even if it was not native to the area. He held a deep appreciation for the native cultural, actively attending the Native traditions and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of Pow Wows in New Mexico. A collector at heart, he collected souvenirs from his travels and those visited by family and friends, each piece a treasured memory in his little "museum" where he would proudly take you through a free tour.
Arturo will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband to his late wife, Rosa, whom he married on October 5, 1970, in Chihuahua, Mexico. Their love was a guiding light in his life, and he cherished every moment spent together until her passing in December of 2020. His commitment to making her happy was a true testament to his character and his dedication to love.
He is survived by his daughters, Veronica Lopez and husband Ruben of Arlington, TX., Rosa I. Lara and husband Samuel of Belen, NM., Rachel Orozco and husband Cecilio Robles of El Paso, TX., Sandra Escobar of Anthony, NM., and Lorena Rubio and husband Arturo of Kermit, TX., brother, Mario Orozco of El Paso, TX., sisters, Eva De Santiago and husband Victor or Denver, CO., Sara Ortiz of Chihuahua, MX., Quica Acost and husband Jesus of Chihuahua, MX., Teresa Romero of Chihuahua, MX., Chela Carbajal and husband Oswaldo of Chihuahua, MX., Rosaura Hernandez and husband Benito of Albuquerque, NM., Olivia Salgado of Denver, CO., and Carolina Orozco of Denver, CO., grandchildren, Desiree, Ignacio, Benjamin, Gabriela, Marisol, Crystal, Juan Jr., Ariel, Alejandra, Kazzandra, and Samantha, and great grandchildren, Leilani, Jaylen, Norah, Angel, Destiny, Donovan, Ivy, Ila, David, and Kourtney.
